Celebrate Valentine’s Day Even If You’re Single

February 14th, 2017

Single on Valentine’s Day? Worry not! There are ways to not feel lonely on the day of love.

Although this particular day is usually celebrated by couples, it is not specifically for romantic love only. Valentine’s Day was meant to celebrate all types of love. Therefore, being single isn’t really much of an issue on February 14th; doesn’t matter what your favorite rom-com says.

Celebrate Yourself

If you’ve been celebrating past Valentine’s Days with a significant other but aren’t now, you might feel a little down. The sight of the flowers, chocolates, and teddy bears might trigger feelings from the past and make you bitter. So, why not get yourself a well-deserved spa day? Or just indulge yourself in some of your favorite sweets and/or dishes. You don’t have to emulate the opening scene of Bridget Jones’s Diary. Give yourself the love you want to receive on this day.

Give Love Away

Give chocolates or sweets or flowers to your single friends, to your workmates, to your neighbor, or join charity events. There are loads of organizations that set up blood drives, feeding programs, and other charitable activities during Valentine’s Day, look for one that suits your taste.

Find Love

If you’re a true romantic who wants to cease the moment to find a partner, join speed dating activities or those random dating gimmicks most establishments put up to celebrate the day. There are a lot of fun events on this day and if you’re truly wishing to find the right person on Heart’s Day then don’t be afraid to try them. Even if you don’t find your one true love, at least you’ve enjoyed the day.

Valentine’s Day is only a day of bitterness if you make it one. Enjoy the day like any other day or make it a special day, how you celebrate it depends all on you.
